THE NEW YOU – CHOOSING WHO WINS

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES:
The NEW You

At salvation, we are set free from the bondage of our sin. And yet we still fight with imperfections and certain signature sins. Thankfully we are no longer defined by what we’ve done wrong but by what Christ has done right. This series will look at ways we can gain victory and live the new life available to us.

Last Week:
How can you live in the freedom of Christ this week?
Read Romans 8:1-4 each day this week.

Two Weeks Ago:
Memorize Galatians 5:22-23
Take steps this week to have more “fruit” in your life

Key Verse:

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What brand of toilet paper do you use?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Checking in

Read Romans 8:5
What does that mean?
How does it play out in everyday life?
Read Romans 8:6-8; Galatians 5:16-23
What are the results of focusing on the flesh versus focusing on the Spirit?
Which sounds better?
If we know that walking with the Spirit of God in our lives is better for us and those around us, why do we still struggle with the desires of the flesh?
Read Romans 8:9-11; John 10:10
What happens when we begin a relationship with God through Christ?
What does that mean to you personally?
Read Romans 8:12-17
If Bill Gates called you up and said you are now my heir, you have access to everything I have, how would that change your life?
What does it mean to be an “heir of God”?
How is that a game changer in our day to day life?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
What does it mean for you to live like an heir of God in your day to day life? What steps do you need to take this week to move in that direction?
