The VOW – The Vow of Purity (week 4)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Wedding vows are more than a declaration of love – they hold the keys to a strong, lasting marriage.
Whether you hope to get married someday or you’ve already tied the knot, discover what The VOW can mean to your present and future.

Last Week: If you are married – read Ephesians 5:21-25. How are you doing in your role?
If you are single -vread Colossians 3:12-13. How do these qualities show up in your life?

Two Weeks Ago: If you are married, how are you pursuing your spouse? What could you do this week?
If you are single, how can you be an encouragement to a friend this week?

Key Verse:

For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.1 Thessalonians 4:7

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is the last thing you lost?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
When is the last time you played Hide and Seek?
Would you rather be the one hiding or the one seeking? Why?
What is the longest you have ever stayed hidden?
Hiding is fun in a game, but when can hiding be a bad thing?
When someone hides something potentially harmful to themselves and others, what does that communicate?
Read Genesis 2:24-25;
Who created marriage?
Who created sex?
Why do you think God created them?
Why do you think God created sex to be enjoyed only in a marriage relationship?
Genesis 3:9-10
How does sin cause us to want to hide?
How do people hide sin today?
Read Colossians 1:10; Ephesians 5:3
How does sin impact God’s gift of sex?
If sex is so great, why just keep it between two people in marriage?
How does sex outside of a marriage relationship impact sex inside a marriage relationship?
Read 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7
Why is purity such a big deal to God?
What is God protecting us from?
What does it mean to “defraud” someone?
Read 1 John 1:9-10; 1 Corinthians 10:13
Does everyone sin?
Why do you think it is important to not hide sin?
What happens when we bring it to the light?
How can you remain pure in a hyper sexual culture?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
How is your purity? Is there anything that needs to be brought to the light?
