This Is What We Do – Put God First (week 1)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES: This is What We Do

We embrace THIS. We live THIS out. When THIS happens, everyone benefits. When THIS happens, God’s blessings flow. THIS opens doors and solves problems. THIS inspires others to do THIS too. THIS is who we are. THIS is What We Do!

Last Week: What has God called you to do at GPC? If you don’t know, talk to God about it this week?

Two Weeks Ago: Is there someone/something in your life you need to forgive and release?  What does that look like in your life?

Key Verse:

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
How much money would you like to make each year?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
How would a million dollars change your life?
What would you purchase with it?
How often does money come across your thought process?
What is the last thing you purchased (literally-like in the last 24 hours)?
Read Matthew 6:21
What does this passage mean?
Is money bad? Is wanting to provide or having nice things bad?
How do you know?
Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-11; Psalm 112:9
What does it mean to be generous?
Why do people get “twitchy” when it comes to money and God?
What does it mean to be generous with God?
Do you think it is hard for Christians to trust God with money?
Do you think it is hard for Christians to trust God with Salvation?
What is the difference?
Read Malachi 3:10
Does God need our money?
What does God really want from us? (our heart – to trust Him for our needs)
So what is the big deal about tithing?
Why does God say “test me in this”?
How do we get blessed by giving back to God?
So then why don’t more Christians do it?
How does giving back to God increase our faith?
Why is it easier to put more faith in money to meet our need than in God to meet our needs?
If you are struggling with tithing, what would be a faith step for you to “test God in this”? If you are tithing already, how has God shown up?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Money is a touchy subject. If you are worried about tithing, talk to God. Read Malachi 3:10; 2 corinthians 9:6-11 this week.
Take a step of faith towards Him and watch what He can do!
