Missing Peace – Finding Peace When I Don’t Understand (week 3)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Where in the world is peace found these days? We do not see peace in our country, homes, relationships, and the world! This missing peace can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Last Week: Can you thank God this week for the waiting? What would it look like if you did?

Two Weeks Ago: Do you know God’s Perfect Peace? How can you live in that this week?

Key Verse:

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
Why do you park in a driveway but drive on a parkway?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
What is a subject you took in school that you have never used in the real world?
Why do you think they made you take that class?
Have you ever had something happen to you that you just don’t understand?
How do you cope with not having an answer?
If you could ask God one question what would it be?
What if God decided not to give you an answer?
Why do you think God chooses not to answer some of our questions?
Read Proverbs 3:5; Genesis 50:15-20
What does it mean to “lean on your own understanding”?
Why is that the second part of the verse?
How does this verse apply to Joseph’s situation?
What is the wisdom in verse 20?
How do you think Joseph viewed his circumstances in that moment?
How do you think that changed from when he was first sold into slavery by his brothers?
Read Proverbs 3:6; 19:21
Is it wrong to have plans/desires/dreams?
What does it mean for you personally to submit your ways/plans/desires to God?
Do you believe that God has His Best Plans in store for you?
How does that give you peace?
How does that help you pray?
How do you trust it, especially when you don’t have all the answers?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Where do you need to trust God’s Plan in your life right now?
