Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!
Before we jump into our study, let’s remember three goals of every LifeGroup gathering:
– Grow with Each Other (know each other better)
– Grow Closer to God (know God better)
– Grow Deeper in Life (live by faith better)
All of the questions are designed to lead us in spiritual and relational growth. The goal is to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and learn to live by faith better in the process.

Grow with Each Other
- Do you tend to be content with what you have, or do you tend to seek after new things?
- Do you believe you honor God with your finances? Explain.
- Describe how you feel about the current state of your finances.
Grow Closer to God
- READ 1 Timothy 6:9-10; Matthew 6:24
- What does the love of money being a root of evil teach you about how God sees wealth?
- What does the temptation of wealth teach you about your faith?
- What has God taught you about money and materialism in your own life?
- When have you been tempted to spend on things that did not honor God? Explain.
- READ Luke 18:18-24; Luke 12:15
- Describe some of the reasons you have believed you lack what you need. What does this teach you about your relationship with God?
- How has the “money monster” succeeded in dominating your value system? How has this impacted your faith?
- Describe a time your relationship with the Lord was hindered because of the lure of wealth.
- What is something God has called you to do that you are putting off until you “have more…”?
- READ 1 Timothy 6:6-8
- How has God’s direction for your life helped you to find contentment?
- How has contentment helped you draw closer to God and resist the temptation of the “money monster”?
- Describe how you submit your finances to the Lord and place Him in charge of your wealth.
- Where might God be identifying greed and materialism in you that still needs to be dealt with?
- Explain how rejecting selfishness and practicing generosity can draw you closer to the Lord.
