RELATIONSHIP GOALS – CHRIST CENTERED (WEEK 1)
Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!
Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:
– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community
Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.
CURRENT SERIES: Relationship Goals
People often look at happy images of marriages on social media and say, “I want that,” but they don’t really know what “that” is. The real secret to a great marriage goes far deeper than just a hashtag. In this five-part series we’ll define five goals that will enable couples to keep their focus on the right path for their marriage.
Last Week:
Take the NEXT Class at gracepointkitsap.info – ask your LifeGroup to join you and check back in to see everyone’s progress
Two Weeks Ago:
Are there areas in your life that you don’t want Jesus to see? Who in your life needs to see you following Jesus?
Key Verse:
“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17
Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
(Check in with the group about doing the NEXT Class Together – how is it going?)
If you could have three hours just for you, what would you do?
Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Where do you spend most of your time on a daily basis?
What would you say are the top three priorities in your life?
Does the time you spend in your day match up with your priorities? Explain
If you could rearrange your time and/or priorities what would they look like?
Read Matthew 22:36-39
What does it mean to live a Christ centered life?
How does that impact the people around you?
How does that work in marriage? In other relationships?
Why is that so hard to do?
Read Colossians 1:15-18
Who is Christ?
What does it mean that in Christ all things hold together?
Does He force Himself on us?
When Christ is not the priority in our lives, what happens in our lives and our relationships?
Read Ephesians 5:1-2
What does it mean to be “imitators of God” and to “walk in love as Christ”?
How would that play out in a marriage? How about other relationships?
If we are to make Christ the center of our lives, how does prayer play into that?
How often do you pray in a given week?
How would praying more consistently impact your life and the life of those around you?
How can you make a change, beginning tomorrow?
Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
If you are married, make it a point to pray every day this week.
If you are single, ask a friend for a prayer request that you can pray for every day this week.
