Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s remember three goals of every LifeGroup gathering:

– Grow with Each Other (know each other better)
– Grow Closer to God (know God better)
– Grow Deeper in Life (live by faith better)

All of the questions are designed to lead us in spiritual and relational growth. The goal is to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and learn to live by faith better in the process.

Grow with Each Other

  • What life season are you in right now? Are you in the season of raising children, or of being raised yourself? No matter the season you’re in, understanding biblical parenting is valuable.
  • Whatever season you are in, what do you think your top parenting goal is or will be? Why?
  • How important is parent/child friendship to you? Explain.

 

Grow Closer to God

  • READ Genesis 2:15017
  • How important are boundaries to God? Why?
  • How does God set the example of setting boundaries as a parent? What does this teach you about God’s character as your Heavenly Father?
  • Why is it important for parents to prioritize training our children over befriending them?
  • READ Psalm 16:5-6; Proverbs 22:28
  • How does knowing God is consistent help you trust the boundaries He sets?
  • What does the consistency of God teach you about the importance of consistency in parenting?
  • Describe some of the boundaries God assigns for the different seasons of our lives. How does this transfer to parenting?
  • What does parenting being a temporary stewardship teach you about our individual relationships with God?

 

Grow Deeper in Life

  • What boundaries do you struggle to clearly and consistently define? What steps can you take this week to begin to remedy this?
  • How do you need to either become a better groundskeeper or better respect the groundskeepers God has given you?
  • What is your biggest challenge with being the groundskeeper God is calling you to be or respecting those He has given to lead you? How can we pray for you in this?
