Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s remember three goals of every LifeGroup gathering:

– Grow with Each Other (know each other better)
– Grow Closer to God (know God better)
– Grow Deeper in Life (live by faith better)

All of the questions are designed to lead us in spiritual and relational growth. The goal is to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and learn to live by faith better in the process.

 

CURRENT SERIES: Alien Life: How to Live in a Foreign Land

Grow with Each Other

  • What is something uncommon, or “weird”, someone has pointed out about you?
  • What is something uncommon about someone else that has encouraged you?
  • How has being “different” as a follower of Jesus been a challenge? How has it been a blessing?

 

Grow Closer to God

  • READ 1 Peter 1:13-14, 2:12
  • What are some ways God has called you to be different?
  • How can having an alert mind and self-control help you grow closer to God?
  • What does the hope awaiting believers teach you about God?
  • READ 1 Peter 1:15-16
  • How is God glorified by the good deeds of His people?
  • What are some changes God has made in you since becoming a follower of Jesus?
  • What are some ways God is currently sanctifying you (making you holy)?
  • READ 1 Peter 1:17-19; 1 Corinthians 5:10
  • How can reverent fear of the Lord help you to grow in faith and holiness?
  • How can remembering that this life is not our home help us to live holy lives for God?
  • What does knowing God will eventually reward the efforts of this life teach us about God?

 

Grow Deeper in Life

  • What are some ways you can become more focused and determined in your faith and calling?
  • What are some things in your life that you need to surrender to the Lord and live differently for His glory?
  • Who in your life can you turn to for support, encouragement and accountability in this calling? Reach out to them this week.
