A Church in Crisis – A Messed Up Church (week 3) **last set of questions before summer break**

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES: A Church in Crisis

The Church at Corinth is very similar to the Church in America. We will walk through 1 Corinthians and apply the major themes of this book to our church today.

Last Week: What’s the last encouraging thing you have said about your church? Make it a point to tell someone that this week.

Two Weeks Ago: How has Jesus made a difference in your life? Who do you need to tell?

Key Verse:

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.1 Corinthians 6:12

What does it mean that you and I are walking billboards?
What do you think we are trying to “advertise” to others?
Read 1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:32-11:1; Ephesians 5:1-2
What does it does it mean that all things are lawful but not helpful?
How can we potentially take “liberties” in our lives?

How does that apply to sin?
Why is sin bad for me?
Why does that matter?
Read Ephesians 5:7-11, 15-16
How do we walk as children of light in this world?
Why is God’s Wisdom so important to guide us in how we walk?
How does that make us different in the world?
Barry mentioned 3 wise questions to ask: “will this lead me towards God or away from Him, will this negatively impact others, will this please the Lord?”.
How will these questions help us in our daily living?
Where do you think this would be easy to apply to your life?
Where do you think it would be difficult?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
This summer during the LG break, how can you apply these questions to your daily life?
