Warrior – Your Temptation Battle Plan (week 3)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Are you feeling backed into the corner or bullied by the pressures of life? It’s time to fight back with courage and purpose – for yourself, your family and your future. Let’s start the year with a battle plan for 2023 as we look to the Ultimate Warrior Jesus Christ!

Last Week: Read Judges 6-7 this week. God has called us into battle. Will you fight in His Strength?

Two Weeks Ago: Where do you need to be a warrior in your life this week? Memorize Deuteronomy 31:6

Key Verse:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What is your favorite dessert?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
If you could eat one food every day for a month what would it be?
How would that be beneficial to you?
How would that be harmful?
If we know it could be harmful, what is the draw to want to do it anyway?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13
What is temptation?
Can anyone be tempted?
Are we all tempted the same way? Why?
Is temptation wrong?
What makes temptation bad?
What does it mean to have a way out?
What happens when we don’t take it?
Read Colossians 3:5-6
What does it mean to put to death what tempts you?
Is it a one and done funeral?
Does it get easier the longer you put it to death?
Do we always need to be on guard for the things that tempt us? Why? (See 1 Peter 5:8)
Read James 4:7; 2 Timothy 2:22
What happens when we play around with temptation?
Why is it important to have plan of attack?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 and James 4:7 together. What happens to the devil when we submit to God and we resist the temptation?
Why is that important to know? Why is it also important to put into practice?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Do you have a plan of attack for the temptations you face? Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 and James 4:7 this week. Make a plan.
