Untouchables – A Biblical Perspective on Four Cultural Hot Issues – Homosexuality (week 2)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES: Untouchables – A Biblical Perspective on Four Cultural Hot Issues

In our Cancel Culture environment today, there is fierce opposition against any stance that is in defiance of what is viewed as acceptable norms in our godless society. However, scripture is clear that followers of Jesus do not live by the standards of this world. (1 Cor. 10:2) In light of this truth, we will look at four hot button issues from a Biblical perspective and worldview.

**OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL SESSIONS WE WILL BE DISCUSSING SEVERAL TOPICS THAT MAY HAVE VARYING OPINIONS. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL IN YOUR DISCUSSION, YOU MAY NOT KNOW EVERYONE’S STORY. REGARDLESS OF OPINIONS, THE BIBLE IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY. GRACE AND TRUTH. GRACE AND TRUTH.**

Last Week: If you know someone who has been impacted by an abortion, ask God if there is something you can do to share His Love with them.

Two Weeks Ago: Memorize James 1:19 and Proverbs 16:24. Use them this week in your conversations and see what God’s Wisdom will do.

Key Verse:

because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” Romans 1:25

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
What was your go to love song in High School?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
How many of you know someone who would say they are a homosexual?
How do you think our culture viewed homosexuality 30 years ago? 10 years ago?
How do you think our culture handles it today?
What changed?
Read Isaiah 45:18-19; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Romans 1:18-20
What did we learn about having a Biblical world view?
Why is that important?
Why is the Bible offensive to someone who doesn’t have a relationship with Christ?
Read Romans 1:21-25; Isaiah 55:8-9;
What happens when we replace a Biblical world view with the man’s view of the world?
What prevents mankind from following God (see Rom 1:22)
Read Hebrews 13:4; Genesis 2:24-25; Genesis 1:27-28
Who created sex?
What is God’s Plan for sex?
What does it mean for the marriage bed to be defiled?
1 John 4:13-16; Romans 1:26-32
What does God ultimately want for us?
Will God force himself on us? Why?
Does God hate sin? Why?
Does God love the sinner? Why?
Romans 3:23; Romans 2:1
Do you think that Christians are more comfortable with some sins than others?
Is that right? Why?
Do you think it is possible to weaponize the Bible to shame others? How can we prevent that?
How do you think the “church” has handled the topic of homosexuality?
How do you think someone outside the church would answer that question?
What do you think would be the correct response to someone who struggles with sin of any kind?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Have you judge some sins differently than others? What can you do differently to change that in your life? How can you show God’s love for people who may view the world differently than you?
