HORIZON – Looking Up, Out and Beyond Ourselves (Part 4)

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Horizon – Looking Up, Out and Beyond Ourselves

The horizon is a beautiful picture from our Creator. They are symbolic for hopes, dreams, and a future. To see a horizon, we must look up, out, and beyond ourselves. The COVID season has caused many to look down, around, or within themselves. As believers at GracePoint, we need to refocus our attention. We need to recast our VISION and lift our eyes and see the HORIZON God has before us.

Last Week: Who are the people in your community that don’t know Jesus? Begin praying for an opportunity to invite them to GPC.

Two Weeks Ago: What does God want to do through you at GPC in this Horizon challenge? Pray, Pray, Pray first, then see what God says to you!

Key Verse:

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” Malachi 3:10

Movement Towards Each Other
(know the people in your group)

What is the grossest thing you have ever eaten?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)

What was a fear you had as a child?
Did that fear ever go away?
When did you feel safest as a child?
What is something you are afraid of as an adult?
How does fear change from when you were a kid to being an adult?
Read Deuteronomy 8:1-6
Have you ever felt like God was leading you to do something you didn’t want to do?
What was the biggest fear in that situation?
What do you think we miss out on when we say “no” to God?
What does it mean to have faith in God?
How does fear play into our faith?
Read Jeremiah 33:3; 29:11-13
What does “faith” require?
What does it mean for you to trust God?
Read Malachi 3:8-12
What does it mean to rob God?
How does fear play into finances? How does faith?
Why is it easy to trust God for Salvation but not with finances?
Why does God want us to be generous with Him?
Read vs 10 again
Do we give God money so He gives us back more, like some kind of slot machine?
So what does that verse mean? (see Matthew 6:19-21)
What blessings could God give us that have nothing to do with finances?
What is driving your finances with God, fear or faith?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
Take a look at your finances this week. Do you live with fear or faith? What would it look like to live in faith?
