THE NEW YOU – NO CONDEMNATION

Gracepointkitsap   -

Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

CURRENT SERIES:
The NEW You

At salvation, we are set free from the bondage of our sin. And yet we still fight with imperfections and certain signature sins. Thankfully we are no longer defined by what we’ve done wrong but by what Christ has done right. This series will look at ways we can gain victory and live the new life available to us.

Last Week:
Memorize Galatians 5:22-23
Take steps this week to have more “fruit” in your life.

Two Weeks Ago:
What has God given you to manage for Him and His Kingdom? Read Matthew 25:14-29 each day this week and ask God to reveal to you the answer to that question.

Key Verse:

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
If you were ever going to be arrested for something, what would it be?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Have you ever been stuck or stranded somewhere?
What was it like?
How did you get unstuck?
What did you learn from the experience?
Read Romans 8:1-2
Do you think Christians really believe that?
Of all the reactions to sin that Barry talked about – denial, guilt, shame, conviction or condemnation, which one do you think is the most common response?
Which do you think is the correct response to sin? Explain
Read Romans 6:1-2
If we have been forgiven, does this just give us a free pass to do whatever we want, since we have been forgiven?
What does it mean/look like to be a slave to sin?
Why is sin bad for us?
Read Romans 8:3-4
How does someone get stuck emotionally?
What does it mean to be freed from sin, especially past sin?
How does that speak to regrets from our past mistakes?
What does this statement mean to you – “In Christ we are no longer defined by what we’ve done wrong but defined by what Jesus did right.”
Why is it difficult to live in the Freedom that Christ has provided for us?
Read Galatians 5:16-25
What happens when we begin a relationship with God through Christ?
How are the fruits of that relationship so much better than the fruits of sin?
How does Satan try to distract us from that?
What would it look like for you and I to live in the freedom of our relationship with God?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
How can you live in the freedom of Christ this week?
Read Romans 8:1-4 each day this week.
