Welcome to a New LifeGroup Session!

Before we jump into our study, let’s take a moment to remember that there are THREE things we want to see happen every time our LifeGroups gather:

– Movement towards Each Other
– Movement towards God
– Movement towards our Community

Our questions follow this same format. All of the questions are designed towards movement. We hope you enjoy your time together in your LifeGroup.
**Remember, our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and each other. Use the questions that are help and skip the rest.

Simply Blessed

The very first thing God did after he made Adam and Eve was to bless them. It the nature of God to bless us. Every blessing we have comes from Him. Let’s acknowledge the source of our blessings, share our blessings and even double them!

Last Week:
Where is God blessing your life? How can you share that blessing with the world around you ?

Two Weeks Ago:
What steps do you need to take to move forward in your above answer? Share your plan with your LifeGroup the next time we meet.

Key Verse:

And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”” Luke 5:5

Movement Towards Each Other (know the people in your group)
Are you a glass half empty or glass half full type of person?

Movement Towards God (grow in your relationship with God)
Have you ever won anything in a raffle/lottery?
What was it?
What would happen if you won the lottery?
What do you think would be the downside to winning 10 million dollars?
What does it mean that blessings can also have burdens?
Read Luke 5:1-3
What are some examples of things you do that feel like a burden but after you do them you can see the benefit? (cleaning dishes, working out, filing taxes)
Is it easier to focus on the burden or the blessing of a task?
Read Luke 5:1-3 again
Peter was in the middle of work and Jesus asked to borrow his boat to teach. What do you think was going on in Peter’s head?
Read Luke 5:4-5
Have you ever had someone share their opinion about something you were doing to “help you out”?
Jesus is giving Peter advice on fishing, after working all night. What would your response have been?
Read Luke 5:6-11
What would have happened if Peter had focussed on the burden of go back out to fish?
How did that one act change Peter’s life?
How did it impact the lives of those around him?
Has there ever been a time in your life where you saw a burden but it turned out to be a blessing? What happened?
Are there some potential things in your life that you know you need to do but all you see is the burden of doing it?
What blessings could await you on the the other side of it?

Movement Towards Community (they see the change in you)
What is God calling you to do but you are focussed on the burden of doing it?
Read Luke 5:5-11 each day this week and talk to God about it.
